We started it because many of the quizzes in pubs that we attended
were coming up with the same type of questions every week.
If you had swotted up on the list of foreign currencies, US
state capitals, International Vehicle Registration letters,
film stars' real names etc., you were sure to score points.
You were also guaranteed terminal boredom.
In the early 1990's we presented the quiz in The Wrestlers,
a large pub in Highgate, North London.
In a short period of time, Monday night became their busiest
night of the week, and the takings multiplied 5-fold for that
evening! |
